New Sophomores and Juniors

New Students

• 10th Grade - new Sophomore next year

  1. Use the 10th Grade Course Request Worksheet to prepare to request courses. This worksheet will assist you in ensuring you are selecting the required courses and understand your options. Review the "Graduation Requirements and Progress Tracking" and "Course Catalog" for more details on the High School Planning page.
  2. Request your courses by completing the 10th grade Online Course Request Form.
  3. Attend a NUAMES Nighthawk Flyby - see the Calendar for dates (usually held in January and March).

• 11th Grade - new Junior next year

  1. Use the 11th Grade Course Request Worksheet to prepare to request courses. This worksheet will assist you in ensuring you are selecting the required courses and understand your options. Review the "Graduation Requirements and Progress Tracking" and "Course Catalog" for more details on the High School Planning page.
  2. Request your courses by completing the 11th grade Online Course Request Form.
  3. Attend a NUAMES Nighthawk Flyby - see the Calendar for dates (usually held in January and March).

Returning Juniors and Seniors

Current Students

• 11th Grade - returning Junior next year

  1. Use the 11th Grade Course Request Worksheet as a guide.
  2. Review the "Graduation Requirements and Progress Tracking" and "Course Catalog" for more details on the High School Planning page.
  3. Go to your myDSD student account, click on the "Academics" tab and go to "Course Requests" in the menu. NOTE: This cannot be done from a parent's myDSD account.
  4. Select 8 courses for "Column 1", "Column 2", and "2 Alternatives".
  5. Click on the "+Add Courses", select "Category", select "Course", select "Column", click "Add Course" button.
  6. Continue this process until all 8 courses have been added to "Column 1", "Column 2", and "2 Alternatives".

• 12th Grade - returning Senior next year

  1. Use the 12th Grade Course Request Worksheet as a guide.
  2. Review the "Graduation Requirements and Progress Tracking" and "Course Catalog" for more details on the High School Planning page.
  3. Go to your myDSD student account, click on the "Academics" tab and go to "Course Requests" in the menu. NOTE: This cannot be done from a parent's myDSD account.
  4. Select 8 courses for "Column 1", "Column 2", and "2 Alternatives".
  5. Click on the "+Add Courses", select "Category", select "Course", select "Column", click "Add Course" button.
  6. Continue this process until all 8 courses have been added to "Column 1", "Column 2", and "2 Alternatives".
